During your recovery, you will stay at Asari House of Healing in Bloubergrise, which is about a 7 minute walk from the beach and approximately 2 minute’s drive from my house. Asari is a peaceful cottage that is quiet and comfortable with a beautiful little garden in which you can relax in the hammock, read your book, and listen to the bird-life whilst you recover. There is a fireplace for cosy winter evenings, full satellite tv, Netflix and super-fast wi-fi. It comes with 100% Egyptian cotton bedding, soft fluffy towels and is serviced daily so all you need to do is relax and heal.
The Cottage is a stand-alone property with its own access; therefore, your privacy is guaranteed. The cottage sleeps four people in two separate bedrooms. If you are travelling with friends or family, I can arrange a full itinerary of enjoyable activities so that they can enjoy their holiday whilst you’re having your surgery and recovering
I offer freshly prepared and healthy meals to assist your recovery. These include freshly squeezed juices and smoothies – great to speed up the healing process from the inside out. Meals are home-cooked with a focus on fibre to prevent constipation (common after surgery) and less sodium (too much salt exacerbates swelling). I shop at local shops and markets and use organic and free-range wherever possible.
The cottage is fully equipped should you wish to prepare something for yourself. Healthy snacks such as fruit and nuts are available 24/7 and I am on hand to go to the shops and buy any additional groceries and snacks that you may require.
There is no set menu as I prepare according to what you feel like during your recovery. I love to offer freshly made soups and smoothies, especially for the first few days after surgery, when you may not feel like eating a full meal.
